June 27th, 2018

6/27/2018

Parents & Students of CFPA,
Thank you for the year of incredible music and theatre that your children have given us. It is truly the best gift that I could have asked for.
For me, this year has been full of ups, downs and growing pains, as I’m sure you all know. I’ve made endless notes and changes in anticipation for next year. But I have to say the one thing that has truly remained constant, and kept me going through out this process, is the pure joy, eagerness, love and enthusiasm the students brought to every performance and lesson. These singers and actors remained calm in chaos, enthusiastic during long hours, supportive of each other, dedicated to their story-telling, and focused in their work. I was in awe of each child or young adult as they became shining examples of everything I have ever wanted to accomplish in an arts academy: hard working, empathetic, friendly, positive human beings with a genuine love for their art.

In saying that, it really didn’t matter if I had miscalculated a minor detail, had technical issues or forgot a program - your children were there to remind me of what really mattered. That my students were well-prepared and enjoying themselves, having fun on stage and back stage with their friends, and excited to be there. Everywhere I looked, there were students conquering their fears and encouraging each other in the process. Congratulating each other with ear-to-ear grins. Telling me they couldn’t wait until their turn to be a “main character”, or begging me to tell them what musical we were going to do next year. I felt like I had accomplished the main goal of “confidence, community, courage”.
When I look back on this year, I will forever remember the way that they made me feel.
Proud. Happy. Fulfilled. And eager to serve them better next year.
With that in mind, please do not hesitate to give me any feedback - we are always looking for better ways to serve our students and parents. I aspire to make everyone happy (although people tell me that is impossible, I’ll never stop trying). If you have something positive to say, we would love to hear that as well. We are always looking for parent reviews to add to our social media and you can remain anonymous if you prefer.
Next year we welcome Laura Barr, Calyssa Squires and Nathan Mackey officially onto our CFPA team. You can read their bio’s on our website, www.courtneyfowlerperformanceacademy.com and see the amazing things they have accomplished, read their teaching philosophies and get to know them better. Below I have added our remaining private slots for next year, in case anyone has asked me and I have forgotten to send it. Our pre-registration was highly successful and we are almost completely full for the year.
We do still have room in our Performance and Drama classes if you know of anyone who may be interested - we made sure to open a bunch of new classes in anticipation for newcomers. However, class sizes will remain small (10-15 students per class) with multiple teacher helpers in each class, to ensure our ratios remain amazing, and every child gets all the attention they deserve.
This will be my last long-winded email until August when we welcome you back after a great (hopefully warmer) Summer holidays...to our new location! Unless you are here with me for SUMMER CAMPS in which I say... let the fun begin! There is still space left if your friends want to join us!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
