KIWANIS MUSIC FESTIVAL Please do not wait until last minute to contact Courtney for help with registration. Parents have to complete their own registration this year. Courtney’s business hours to provide help are 12-3pm Monday to Friday, Oct 29-Nov 2nd. The deadline is November 3rd. New orders can be placed before Christmas. DECEMBER RECITAL SERIES Courtney is working to create the show schedule for Sunday, December 16 & Saturday, December 22 at the Hibernia Manuels River Interpretation Centre. Shows will take place between 9-5pm. We are planning 30 minute shows, following a 30 minute Christmas party for students and families in the Discovery Room next door to the Theatre. Parents are encouraged to bring a treat with them to the party (plate of cookies, juice boxes, cupcakes, crackers, etc). One thing per family is fine. You may send in conflicts at this time, however, we have an enormous undertaking trying to accommodate everyone’s schedules. Siblings are being considered and we will try our best to ensure they are either in the same show or back to back to make it easier on parents. LESSONS IN CAROLS Courtney is in the process of organizing a community fundraising event for Coats For Kids, the SPCA, the Food Bank, and shelters in our surrounding areas. We are partnering with Churches (currently interested: one in St John’s and one in Paradise) and dates will be released soon. We will be looking at a 45-60 minute program including traditional Christmas carols and stories of kindness, compassion, acceptance and giving. This will be open to any and every student of CFPA, no matter what age or level. Courtney will be holding auditions for soloists and readers for these events. We are expecting the turn out to be huge, especially where we are partnering with the congregations of these churches. Please let us know if this would be of interest to you. (Students in Divas: we will try not to conflict with the Divas schedule!) FACEBOOK GROUPS FOR PERFORMANCE CLASSES Courtney is working now to set up Facebook Groups for each performance class to provide videos for home practice in the choreography we are doing in class. We arranged these last year, and parents have been asking for them, so we will be delivering! To find your group: CFPA, the age of the class, day it takes place, then either: OP - Open Performance APD - Advanced Performance and Drama For example: CFPA 9-12 Tues APD That’s it for now! Please let us know how your experience is going with us so far. Courtney CFPA Hello!
This year, all Kiwanis Music Festival registrations must be done ONLINE. As this is the first year using Music Festival Suite and a learning experience for all, the registration deadline date has been extended to NOVEMBER 3rd. Any student under the age of 18 MUST have a parent set up a profile as well, and will need both teacher & parent profiles in order to register. You can set up your profile at: http://stjohns.musicfestivalsuite.com After a Parent Profile is made, you/your child must make a Individual Entrant Profile for the participant in the festival. This is made the same way you’ve made your Parent Profile at: http://stjohns.musicfestivalsuite.com Once you have set up a profile, click on the link that says “REGISTER HERE - MUSIC FESTIVAL SUITE” on the official website: http://www.kiwanismusicfestivalsj.org Please note that TEACHERS must set up duets or group classes. Please forward me your parent / student numbers once you have completed your profiles and double check with me on correct song selections. They may ask to link a Profile ID for the Accompanist for the performance, but you can leave that blank for now. Payments for Registration Fee are acceptable by Credit Card or PayPal. The Kiwanis Music Festival is scheduled to run from February 16th to the 28th. You will receive the exact time and date of your class sometime in January. If you have any issues regarding setting up your profile or registering your child, PLEASE let me know. As this is the first year having to register online, I would love to foresee and help with any issues parents may have.
