BIOGRAPHYKyle has been involved with music since he was just four years old, starting with group lessons at Take Note Music School before beginning private piano and guitar lessons. In junior high he began voice lessons and joined the Mount Pearl Show Choir, and his experience with this group is what ultimately inspired him to pursue music education. With the Mount Pearl Show Choir, and later as a member of the Adult Company of Etcetera Productions, he performed in the annual Etcetera concert series (Etcetera 24 – 33) as well as travelling to perform in places such as Russia, Amsterdam, Sweden, onboard the Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, as well as in Walt Disney World’s Candlelight Processional. As a member of the Company of Etcetera Productions he has also performed in Circus Glorious with Wonderbolt Circus, and Our Divas Do Christmas. More recently, Kyle has studied voice with Jane Leibel at
Memorial University’s School of Music and has been a member of the Adult Chorus in Matilda (2019) and played Funeral Director/Adult Chorus Member in Scrooge (2022), both with Peter MacDonald Productions. Kyle’s favorite genre of music to perform is pop/rock, but he has also studied and performed classical, choral, musical theatre, folk, and more through his performances and lessons over the years. Music has always been a huge part of Kyle’s life. It has given him confidence both on and off-stage, great friendships, and performance and learning experiences he never dreamed of having. He is so excited to be joining CFPA to be able to pass on the joys and benefits of music to the next generation as his past teachers have all done for him! |
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that music education has endless benefits for every aspect of mental health.
I believe that it is vital to individualize every student’s experience in music lessons, tailoring each lesson to what the student wants to sing or play, or what they want to learn or focus on.
I believe that no one is ever done learning or growing as a musician, and that as a teacher I can learn something new from every lesson.
I believe that music lessons should be a safe, positive, and enjoyable space where students are encouraged to be the best version of themselves and be confident and comfortable expressing themselves.
