About Jill

Jill is a passionate and dedicated piano player. She has completed level 8 Royal Conservatory of Music and is continuing on with the levels. She has been playing piano since kindergarten and has completed Music for Young Children. She has also participated in the Kiwanis Music Festival for many years and placed each time she performed. Jill loves working with children and she wants to share her love of music. She also enjoys playing the clarinet in her school band, synchronized swimming, improv and volunteering.

Private piano lessons

Jill has been taking private lessons for many years. She is well equipped to teach students in sheet music, theory, scales, technical skills and the essentials needed to play the piano. She also understands that young children need excitement, fun and encouragement to stay engaged and to learn.

Teaching philosophy
by jill

Music is the key to the soul and you learn that by unlocking your love for an instrument and music. For me teaching is about sharing my love for music and piano. This instrument has opened many opportunities and has taught me important lessons.

First, it gave me the opportunity to meet many inspirational people that have encouraged me to continue on with my passions.

It has taught me to stay dedicated to an activity, to manage time and to be confident in myself. When the teacher creates  a positive atmosphere and believes in having fun, learning to play the piano can be life changing.

I want to teach, inspire and give back to others like many have done for me. Music is an amazing experience and you discover meaningful traits and skills about yourself . You can’t underestimate the power of music and the power of kids, for when they believe in themselves and are encouraged by others that's when the magic happens.
